NEW DELHI: Five people, including a woman, were shot at in a
north Delhi locality after armed
gunmen opened fire at a group of youths on Monday morning. At least three persons are believed to have died, including a woman passer-by, police said.
The mayhem is suspected to be the fallout of a gang war between two groups of criminals.
The incident happened around 10.30am. The shooters were in a
Fortuner SUV and pulled over outside a gym in the area.
Special cell of Delhi Police and crime branch have been roped in to track down the shooters.
As some youths came out and sat in their
Scorpio SUV, the men in Fortuner opened fire with automatic weapons. The men in Scorpio also retaliated.
In the melee, two passers-by were shot at as well. The shootout lasted for around 10 minutes and people were chased and shot.
