Event is to chalk out strategy for 2019 Lok Sabha poll

BJP President Amit Shah will attend a two-day brainstorming session of the Gujarat BJP at the end of the month to discuss and prepare the roadmap for the Lok Sabha poll in the State.

Top leaders of the party including Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, his deputy Nitin Patel and other Ministers and party office bearers will attend the event during which the top leaders will discuss strategy for winning maximum seats in the Parliamentary poll next year.

Assembly poll impact

It may be noted that the BJP had swept all 26 Lok Sabha seats in the State in 2014. However, the party’s performance in last year’s Assembly poll was below expectations as it won only 99 out of 182 Assembly seats in the State.

“During the two-day brainstorming, the party will discuss its prospects for each of the 26 parliamentary conference constituencies and how to retain all of them,” a State BJP leader said.

At the meeting, party leaders will also chalk out programmes to be carried out to activate cadres and connect with masses before the poll.

“We will start several new programmes to create awareness about the performance of the Modi government at the Centre and the Rupani government at the State,” the leader said.

On June 20, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will directly interact with farmers via video conferencing.
