Major cities of today sizzled under sweltering heat with the state capital and recording maximum of above 42 degrees Celsius, the Met department said.

said recorded the maximum of 42.4 degrees followed by at 42.2 degrees Celsius, Bhagalpur 38.5 degrees and Purnea 35.2 degrees

The Met officials said people of the state will have to wait for another four to five days to get respite from the heat as the southwest monsoon has been delayed by a week or so.

The forecast said and are likely to witness partly cloudy sky tomorrow while Bhagalpur and Purnea may witness partly cloudy sky with possibility of rain or thunder or lightning.
