RAJKOT: An angry woman bludgeoned her husband to death with an
iron pestle after having a fight with him over the delay in serving
food in Raningpar village of Keshodh taluka in
Junagadh district on Monday afternoon.
Police identified the deceased as Jagdish Jhala (45) and the accused as Shanta Jhala (40).
“The couple used to quarrel frequently over Jagdish’s drinking habit. On Monday afternoon, when Jagdish asked for food, Shanta asked him to wait and told him it would take some time. Incensed at the delay in serving food to him, Jagdish picked up a fight with her. Then Shanta, in a fit of rage, picked up an iron pestle and hit him hard on the head, smashing his skull and killing him on the spot,” said Keshodh police station sub-inspector M A Vala.
Shanta has been booked for the
murder on the complaint of her son Hiren Jhala (19).
