‘Time and mind management is the essence of life management’

Encouraging the aspiring managers to work towards a right direction for societal welfare, Major General PK Saighal, retired as the Head of Army Air Defence College during the inaugural address of Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ranchi’s induction program for the academic year 2018-19 on Sunday asked the management students to manage their time and mind to achieve great heights in life. “Time and mind management is the essence of life management,” said Saighal while addressing the students as a Guest of Honour.

Citing examples of a few eminent personalities like PESPICO CEO, Indra Nooyi, Music Composer AR Rehman and E Sreedharan – ‘Metroman of India’, Saighal further said, “Nooyi understood the meaning of competition which brought much laurel to her in corporate world while Rehman’s self confident and Shreedharan’s vision is an inspiration for all. Desire to excel leads the individual towards the path of success.”

Giving further success mantras to the students, the Major General further stated that one must focus on innovative ventures, refine their visualization shunning jealousy, greediness. “As an individual, one must run their race, invest on themselves. One must pursue their dreams until they achieve success,” he added. Saighal advised the faculty members to select a bunch of enthusiasts who are innovative and passionate to carry out developmental tasks for advancement of the nation. Ending his note, Saighal quoted that there is no shortcut to success.
