Three persons were killed and five injured in a shootout between two gangs in North Delhi this morning, Jatin Narwal, DCP (North) confirmed on Monday.
Sources said that members of Tillu Tajpur gang and Jitender Hogi gang clashed with each other in a market in Sant Nagar. A member of Tillu Tajpur gang is suspected to have been shot dead.
Locals said that a few people started firing indiscriminately on a SUV and the bullets hit the driver after which the car rammed into the pavement before coming to a stop.
Sources said that the bullets are suspected to have injured a local in the area as well. All the injured have been shifted to Babu Jagjivan Ram Hospital for treatment.
Deputy Commissioner of Delhi (North) Jatin Narwal remained unavailable for comment despite repeated attempts.
