Nod for Overhead Electric Traction System energisation

L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Limited (LTMRHL) announced that Chief Electrical Inspector of Government of India D.V.S. Raju has conducted the statutory inspection of Overhead Electric Traction System (OETS) between Panjagutta and L.B. Nagar Metro stations and accorded sanction for its energisation at 25kV AC.

Energisation of the OETS will facilitate movement of trains for trial runs from Ameerpet to L.B. Nagar, connecting the entire Corridor-I from Miyapur to L.B. Nagar,” said D.V.S. Raju after giving the go ahead. The electric traction system is fed from the 132kV/25kV Receiving Substation (RSS) of the Hyderabad Metro Rail at the MGBS. Incoming supply to this RSS is drawn from 220kV/132kV main substation of TS TRANSCO.

The stations between Ameerpet and L.B. Nagar have got 33kV power supply sanction from the CEIG between February 2018 and May 2018, thereby enabling illumination and functioning of lifts and escalators at Ameerpet Interchange Station.

“This is an important milestone for Corridor I. We are thankful to Mr. Raju for inspecting and approving stage 5 energisation from Panjagutta to L.B. Nagar. This will also enable us to test other systems of the metro rail and start trial run as per our commitment to complete all statutory requirements,” said K.V.B. Reddy, MD & CEO, L&TMRH.

L&TMRH project director M.P. Naidu, COO Anil Kumar Saini, head (power systems) P. Srinivasa Murthy and others were present.
