New Jersey mass shooting injures 22
Two gunmen opened fire on a 24-hour arts festival

At least 22 people, including a 13-year-old boy, have been injured in a mass shooting at a 24-hour arts festival in Trenton, New Jersey. Four of the victims remain in a critical condition in hospital.
One of the gunmen, identified by police as 33-year-old Tahaij Wells, was shot dead by police at the scene. He had “just been released from prison on homicide-related charges” when the shooting occurred, CNN reports.
A second gunman, 23-year-old Amir Armstrong, was arrested and charged with weapons offences.
“It absolutely could have been worse given the confined space and the number of shots that appear to have been fired,” state prosecutor Angelo Onofri said.
The motive for the shooting “remains unclear”, says the BBC, which reports that “several weapons were said to have been found at the scene”.
Local police said a number of altercations took place inside and outside the festival, and that they were in the process of shutting the festival down when the shooting took place.
