Increase CGHS dispensaries in Chandigarh: Jain

Chandigarh: Satya Pal Jain, former BJP MP and Additional Solicitor General of India has urged the Central Government to increase the number of Central Government Health Services dispensaries in Chandigarh from one to at least five. In a letter to the Union Health Minister, Jain said that there are a total of about 31,000 Central Government employees, both sitting and retirees who are entitled for medical assistance from the CGHS dispensary in Chandigarh. But there is a total staff of only about 22 employees, working day and night to attend to the huge rush of patients in this dispensary.  He said that one dispensary for 31,000 employees is highly inadequate. It is essential that in Chandigarh, there are at least five CGHS dispensaries so that the senior citizens and other such Central Government employees, both sitting and retirees can avail all those facilities, he added.
