ROHTAK: Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) senior leader Abhay Singh Chautala said on Sunday that former chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda was making efforts to join incumbent Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) but he would not succeed in his plans.

Addressing mediapersons here, Chautala said that no matter how hard Hooda tried but saffron party in power would not make a mistake of entertaining him. “Everyone knows how Hooda exploited the Congress while in power, which resulted in the party being voted out,” said Chautala, who is leader of opposition in Haryana assembly.

The INLD leader was referring to Hooda’s visit to senior BJP leader’s residence in Delhi on the occasion of Eid. Taking swipe at state BJP, Chautala said that in last four years the government of the day had looted the people so much that it smashed the corruption record of previous Congress government in the state. On SYL canal water, he said that the BJP government was not serious about the issue and wanted to play soft with government in Punjab to avoid loss of seats in 2019 parliamentary polls.

Speaking about Arvind Kejriwal sitting on dharna, he alleged the drama was going on to divert the public attention from core issues and both Kejriwal and BJP were hobnobbing.
