A committee constituted by district administration has found that 21 teachers had submitted bogus medical certificates to get transfers to their preferred places.

The committee conducted an inquiry on June 16 and 18 of this month along with medical officials. On the first day three teachers were found to have submitted bogus certificates followed by 10 teachers on Monday.

Another eight teachers did not attend counselling sessions despite submitting medical certificates and it was suspected they also might have submitted bogus certificates.

Teachers are demanding action against those teachers who were found guilty in addition to medical officers who had issued those certificates. District Education Officer Vijaya Lakshmi said the report would be submitted to the District Collector and based on his directions action initiated against those responsible for issuing and submitting bogus certificates.
