PATNA: Rohtas police on Sunday arrested eight persons for dancing to an ‘anti-national’ and pro-Pakistan song in Darzi Mohallah under the Nasariganj police station area in the district. Police swung into action after a video of the song and dance went viral on social media on Sunday.
The arrested persons were identified as Raja Khan, Mohammad Junaid, Mohammad Golden Khan, Mohammad Miraj, Mohammad Asif Pervez, Mohammad Mojahid, Aashish Kumar and Mukesh Kumar, all in 18 to 22 years of age from the same locality.

Police sources said a DJ party was organised a day before Eid on Nasariganj Postal Road. The video shows some youths dancing to a song, ‘Hum Pakistani Mujahid Hai, Is Dharti Ke Rakhwale, Hum Jaan Ki Baazi Khel Ke Tumko Kaat Ke Rakh Denge’ (We are Pakistani Mujahid, the protector of the land; we can stake our lives and cut you into pieces).

“The FIR was lodged on Sunday at Nasariganj police station on the basis of the video. After its verification by the BDO and Nasariganj SHO, the police nabbed the DJ who played the song and a few youths who were seen dancing and raising anti-national slogans,” Bikramganj SDPO Raj Kumar told this newspaper on Monday. TOI has not independently verified the authenticity of the video.

He said the arrested youths admitted during interrogation that they played the song and danced to it. “The band is owned by Aashish Kumar and Mukesh Kumar. We are trying to arrest the others seen celebrating in the video,” he said.

“In the video, more than 50 persons are seen near a small decorated stage where several youths danced and raised anti-national slogans. The authenticity of the video was also verified,” police sources said.

In March this year, two youths were arrested for allegedly raising anti-national slogans during the victory procession of RJD leader Sarfaraz Alam after he defeated BJP’s Pradeep Kumar Singh in the byelection for Araria Lok Sabha seat.
