Amazon Slashes Echo Prices For EOFY, From $49

As part of its mid-year ‘EOFY’ sale, Amazon has slashed the prices of its entire Echo smart speaker range – with its mini Echo Dot now selling for just $49.

The entire Echo line has been discounted, including the recently released ‘Echo Dot’ which features a display screen.

The Echo Plus is also among discounted items (from $229 to $149) and includes the built-in Smart Home hub.

Amazon’s Echo range takes on the likes of Google Home, and features Google Assistant’s rival ‘Alexa’.

Whilst landing in Australia later than Google Assistant, Alexa has been praised for its competencies, and is continually receiving new skills and third-party application support.

Ultimate Ears’ new BLAST and MEGABLAST smart speakers are powered by Alexa, whereas JBL’s Link 300 runs on Google Assistant.

As an added sweetener, first time Amazon customers can scour the internet for 20% off discount codes on orders above $79.
