OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - An Oklahoma City man is facing a murder charge following a weekend slaying. Oklahoma City police Sgt. Gary Knight said Monday that 64-year-old Rufus E. Townsend was arrested Saturday following the death Joel Stephen White. Townsend was being held without bond Monday in the Oklahoma County Jail. Records do not indicate whether Townsend has an attorney who could speak on his behalf. Knight says police found 56-year-old White's body at an apartment with injuries consistent with a homicide.

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - AAA says motorists in Oklahoma and Arkansas are paying some of the nation's lowest prices for gasoline. AAA said Monday that pump prices in Oklahoma were the fifth lowest in the nation at $2.61 a gallon. Arkansas had the sixth lowest price at $2.63 a gallon. Nationally, gas prices averaged $2.90 a gallon. Monday's national average is one cent more expensive than a month ago and 60 cents higher than a year ago.

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - County health clinics across Oklahoma are struggling to survive after layoffs by the state Health Department. The Oklahoman reports that the staffing shortage is leading clinics to reduce the number of people they serve and delay visits. Statistics from April compared to the same time last year found clinics saw about 4,800 fewer people than a year ago. Some officials attribute this year's decline to the state Health Department's layoffs in December and March.

TULSA, Okla. (AP) - Authorities in Tulsa say an Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper has shot and wounded a man during a traffic stop. Details are sketchy but the highway patrol says the shooting occurred near a Tulsa freeway.
