India’s richest 1 per cent have as much as 73 per cent of the total wealth generated in the country in 2018, according to a new survey by international rights group Oxfam. Rest 99 per cent of the Indian population have just 27 per cent of India’s total GDP. That means out of India’s $2.8 trillion GDP, 1 per cent of India’s population, that is around 13.5 million people make upto $2 trillion and rest 99 per cent of the population, that is around 1.34 billion people make upto just $848 billion. The GDP (nominal) per capita of India in 2018 is around $2,134. There is a huge income inequality in India
