MUMBAI: Several areas of Mumbai received heavy to moderate rainfall accompanied by heavy winds on Sunday. There were 21 incidents of trees or their branches falling.
No major incidents were reported due to the rain. Waterlogging was reported from from suburbs but BMC claimed that the water receded quickly and did't cause any inconvenience.
BMC officials stated that from morning 7am to evening 7pm, the city recorded 43 mm of rainfall whereas Eastern suburb recorded 55 mm and the Western suburb 30 mm. BMC received waterlogging complaints from four places in the suburbs. The BMC used 60 small pumps to clear the rainwater in order to avoid waterlogging.
