BAJURA: Sixty-eight development projects in Bajura district have hit a snag following respective contractor’s inability to finish the works in time, District Administration Office (DPO) stats show.
Construction works of 42 schools, 26 roadways, 6 health centres among others have failed to make any headway and the authorities have failed to address the issue, Engineer Jung Bahadur Thapa at District technical Office informed.
Moreover, some of the projects which were left unfinished were undertaken by incumbent local representatives as contractors.
With major projects left unfinished, the district has yet to realize development as per government’s plans. On the other hand, the contractors have high-level connections and the authorities have turned a blind eye on taking necessary against them, despite multiple complaints registered by the locals, civil society leader Sher Bahadur Shahi said.
