About 60 firefighters are battling a building fire on the West Coast.
A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman said emergency services were called to a fire in a building on Tainui St, Greymouth about 4am on Sunday.
The spokesman said when crews arrived the large commercial building was well ablaze, with about 60 firefighters in attendance.
He said the fire had since spread to an adjoining building, with firefighters working "aggressively" to contain and extinguish the blaze.
