Messi’s Salah demand

Barcelona star Lionel Messi is against the club signing Liverpool star Mohamed Salah, according to reports.

Spanish publication Don Balon claim Messi has asked Barca chiefs NOT to pursue the Egypt international.

Lionel Messi knows any deal to prise the the 26-year-old will cost upwards of 200million euros and he feels money could be better off spent elsewhere.

Don Balon say the Argentine wants Barce to break the bank for Paris Saint-Germain striker Goncalo Guedes.

Guedes spent last season on loan at Valencia, scoring five goals in 33 La Liga appearances.

Bale life line

Gareth Bale’s Real Madrid career has been given a life line because of one thing Julen Lopetegui can do that Zinedine Zidane couldn't.

It has already emerged that Bale is now happy to stay and expects to be given a life line but Express Sport can reveal the reason why.

Bale feels more comfortable in his position because Lopetegui can speak English, whereas Zidane couldn't.

Bale tried to learn Spanish when he first moved to the Bernabeu but has made little progress despite being there since 2013 and winning four European Cups.

But Lopetegui will be able to converse with him in English after taking over this week following his dismissal as Spain manager.

Wilshere to West Ham

West Ham are growing increasingly confident of securing a deal for Arsenal star Jack Wilshere.

As things stand, Wilshere is yet to sign a new deal with Arsenal.

The England midfielder has been told to accept a pay cut of 20 per cent which would see his wages drop to around £90,000 a week.

The Hammers and Everton are keeping tabs, while Crystal Palace and Wolves are also lining up moves.

And according to the Sun on Sunday, the Hammers feel they can complete a deal for Wilshere.

The Sun they are willing to offer him a £130,000-a-week contract and Manuel Pellegri is an admirer of the midfielder and he believes he can build a team around him.

Sarri agreement

Chelsea are closing in on the appointment of former Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri.

talian publication CalcioMercato claim Sarri has already reached an agreement with the Blues to take charge.

However, the 59-year-old wants two new signings to follow him to Stamford Bridge.

CalcioMercato claim Sarri is demanding Chelsea sign Gonzalo Higuain and Daniele Rugani from Juventus.
