MALKANGIRI:At least 10 families which had fled the remote Kurub village under Kalimela police  limits due to threat by Maoists have returned and started agricultural operations with the onset of monsoon.

The villagers had fled the village five months back after Maoists accused them of being police informers. Similar posters were put up by the CPI (Maoist) Kalimela Area Committee on Saturday in which the outlawed organisation had sought explanation from the villagers regarding their flight from the village.
The villagers, who had returned home after five months, expecting that normalcy might have returned to their village, are in a state of panic after the Maoists put up posters asking them not to plough their fields. The residents of the tribal village had deserted the hamlet along with their belongings and livestock leaving behind their agriculture land fearing Maoist backlash.
