Abhilasha Abhinav ranked 18th in UPSC - 2017 attributed her success to the quality education imparted in DPS Bokaro.  “DPS, Bokaro provides great exposure, guidance and congenial atmosphere for students to think, grow and progress; teachers played a vital role in making our foundation strong,” she added.

She remarked that Dr. Hemlata S Mohan, the Director and Principal of the school, possesses inherent leadership skills which are infectious and for the young people who join the school at a tender age the impression is very strong. She is a strict disciplinarian and propelled us to excel in our studies, she said.

Abhilasha (2006 - 07 batch student of DPS Bokaro) completed her B. Tech. from AC Patil College in Navi Mumbai (2012) with a specialisation in Electronics and Communication Engineering. She worked in IBM, Pune, for two-and-a-half years. She made her first attempt in 2014 but failed to clear the prelims, but later became a probationary officer in Syndicate Bank. She took the second attempt at the UPSC Civil Services in 2016 and clinched the 308th rank to get selected for the Indian Revenue Service.

Talking over phone Abhilasha said, “I wished to work as much as I could to bring perceptible changes in the life of people. My motto is to serve the public, I would like to work on the empowerment of women and work to get them the status that they really deserve.”

In her special message Abhilasha said, “I request parents not to pressurise girls to marry. At the same time, girls should give confidence to parents by giving results.

Women aspirants should secure a place in the family and the society. Let the daughters work wonders.”
