Andhra Pradesh: Farm produce worth Rs 10 crore destroyed in fire 

A total of 40,000 bags of chilli, peanuts and sesame stocks reportedly stored in A and B chambers of the unit were burnt to ashes.

GUNTUR: Huge stocks of red chilli, peanuts, red gram, green gram, sesame and other produce stored by  farmers was reduced to ashes in a fire mishap at a cold storage in Boppudi village under Chilakaluripet mandal in Guntur district in the early hours on Friday.

According to reports, the watchman found that the fire broke out from the fifth floor of the complex and soon spread to the lower floors, burning down about 40,000 bags of chilli, peanuts and sesame stocks reportedly stored in A and B chambers of the unit.  Fire Services Officer S Venugopala Rao of Chilakaluripet said 10 fire tenders were pressed into service to douse the flames.

Chilakaluripet CI U Sobhan Babu said partners of Boppudi Cold Storage Private Limited RV Subba Raju and N Veeraiah lodged a complaint stating that four persons were involved in the fire mishap. ifference between the partners of cold storage.
