Several major Vancouver streets will be closed this weekend — so if you're heading around town, you might want to consider jumping on a bus or a bike.
East Broadway between Commercial Drive and Victoria will be closed until 8 a.m. Sunday morning, as crews work on a new overhead walkway for the SkyTrain station.
The 9 and 99 bus stops will also move to the west side of Commercial Drive while crews repair the existing sidewalk and plaza.
"It's going to be a little bit chaotic in this area, it would be a good idea to avoid it all together," said Chris Bryan of TransLink.
No cars allowed
Pedestrians will also be taking over the streets in two Vancouver neighbourhoods this weekend.
Car-free days will take place in the West End on Saturday, and Denman street from Davie to Robson will be shut down.
Main Street will also be closed on Sunday from Broadway to 30th Street for yet another car-free event.
But there is some good news for drivers trying to get to and from the North Shore: construction work on the Lions Gate Bridge has been delayed due to local community events happening over the weekend.
