SOUTHBURY — State troopers arrested a man on I-84 Friday who is wanted in three states and was driving a car police said he stole from his hometown in Pennyslvania.

Officers from Carbondale, P.A. told Connecticut State Police that a car that had been stolen may be heading eastbound on I-84 near Danbury and Newtown. The driver had broken into several cars in Carbondale and stolen one earlier that morning, the police said.

Troopers found the car driving on I-84 in Newtown and pulled it over near Exit 13, according to a release from State Police Troop A. They arrested the driver, 36-year-old Alex Ocasio at the scene and searched the car.

Police said Ocasio first gave his officers his brother’s name, but when he was fingerprinted officers determined his real identity and found that he was wanted by police in South Carolina, Pennsylvania and Waterbury. The charges he is wanted for in the other locations were not listed.

Ocasio was charged with second-degree larceny, criminal impersonation and driving with a suspended license. He is being held on a $25,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Danbury court on Monday.
