Norman was born Nov. 30, 1937, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Raymond and Helen (Titler) Wassmer. Norman grew up on a farm and later became a farmer himself. After retiring from farming, he worked for Linn County, Lindale Mall and helped young farmers in the community. He was a member of FFA and the Lions Club. Norman also drove the school bus for Alburnett Community School for over 40 years and subbed for Linn-Mar school.
Norman married Jacqueline Lee Barcus on March 7, 1959, in Cedar Rapids.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Jacqueline.
Norman enjoyed farming and would create farming replicas in his spare time. He enjoyed showing them off to his Oahu friends and sending pictures to his family and friends back in Iowa. Norman would even incorporate trains into his replicas, especially around Christmas time. Norman also loved flying, snowmobiling and traveling. He would travel to see his family whenever he could.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association, Alzheimer's Association or UnityPoint-St. Luke's Hospice.
Norman would like to thank everyone who was on his train of life!
