HYDERABAD: Day after a woman was found murdered, with her legs chopped off, and abandoned at the Institute of Mental Health campus, the SR Nagar police have identified the person. They claim she was murdered by criminals who wanted to steal her silver anklets.

The deceased was identified as 55-year-old Narsamma of Nallakunta. West Zone DCP AR Srinivas said Narsamma had come to her daughter’s residence in Rehmathnagar a few days ago to take care of her as she was pregnant.

On June 13, Narsamma wanted to have some toddy and was dropped off at a shop by her son-in-law.
From there, when she was intoxicated, she was abducted by unknown criminals who took her to IMH and killed her. CCTV footages showed the woman entering the toddy shop alone. The police department has formed a special team to nab the accused who are still at large.
