Le Mans 24 Hours prize money: How much will the 2018 winner earn? What will Alonso get?
LE MANS 24 HOURS is one of the most iconic races in the world, but what is the prize purse and how much will the 2018 winner earn?
The Le Mans 24 Hours got underway on Saturday afternoon, with Fernando Alonso targeting victory as he continues his pursuit of the motorsport Triple Crown.
The Spaniard is partnering Kazuki Nakajima and Sebastian Buemi in the LMP1 Toyota, with the team’s sister car providing the only real competition after Porsche pulled out of the premier category last year.
Despite the prestigious nature of the endurance race, the prize fund is surprisingly small – although every classified competitor is awarded €7,000.
Finishing first in each category will see teams pocket €10,000 – but how much does the overall winner take home?
