BENGALURU: A day after the first meeting of the coalition coordination committee, the JD (S) and Congress combine formed a five-member committee on Friday consisting of former Chief Minister
M Veerappa Moily and PWD Minister H D Revanna to formulate a Common Minimum Programme (CMP) for the coalition government.

Revenue Minister R V Deshpande, Water Resources Minister D K Shivakumar and JD(S) leader and former IAS officer S Subramanya are the other members of the committee. While Moily headed the committee that had drafted Congress' election manifesto, Subramanya was part of the JD (S) team that drafted its manifesto for the 2018 election. Based on the assurances made in the JD (S) and Congress election manifestos, the committee will formulate the CMP in the next 10 days.

The decision to constitute the committee was taken by coalition coordination committee headed by former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, Deputy CM G Parameshwara and AICC General Secretary KC Venugopal are members of the coordination committee. All important assurances, including farm loan waiver promised by JD(S), will be looked into by the committee that will draft the CMP.
