There will be three pet shot clinics sponsored by the SPCA Saturday, June 23:
9-11 a.m. at Big Lots, 3818 S. Nova Road, Port Orange
Noon-1:30 p.m. at A Pampered Pooch Groomer, 295 S. Yonge Street, Ormond Beach
3-4:30 p.m. at Big Lots, 1998 FL-44, New Smyrna Beach
All vaccinations are administered by a licensed veterinarian. The clinic is licensed and permitted. Cash only for the shots. For information, call 386-748-8993.
Start of Summer Slam
The Creative Happiness Institute presents "The Start of Summer Slam" from 7:30 to 10 p.m. Saturday, June 23, at TY5 Theater, 4606 Clyde Morris Blvd., Port Orange. The evening will feature performance poetry, comedy and featuring Cuban-American singer and songwriter JP Rabelo, and award-winning poet Abigail Truelsen. Pride month movie and potluck
The Open and Affirming (ONA) Committee at United Church of Christ of New Smyrna Beach will mark Pride Month with a movie, potluck, and discussion featuring the movie "Milk" 4 p.m. Saturday, June 23, at the church, 203 Washington St., New Smyrna Beach. LGBTQ Pride discussion, tea dance
Celebrate LGBTQ Pride at Community Unitarian Universalist Church noon, Sunday, June 24, at 403 West St., New Smyrna Beach. The topic will be "why we celebrate gay pride" and the speaker will be Chris Kaplan of Port Orange, a former professor at Rutgers University, with a tea dance to follow.
