Former Chief Minister and chief of Jharkhand Vikas Morcha Babulal Marandi rejecting the amendments made into the Land Acquisition Bill, 2013 by the State Government, said that the original form of the legislation would be restored once the party comes into power.

Addressing a press conference on Friday, Marandi also lashed out the BJP-led Government for not handling sensitive matters delicately. “The Government has made amendments into the Land Acquisition Act which would be written off into the very first Cabinet meeting should our party come into power after next elections. All the agreements done with companies in the light of this would be declared null and void. The amendments are meant to grab land from farmers and tribals,” said Marandi.

Coming to other issues and completion of four years of the Modi Government at the Centre, the leader said that none of the promises made had been fulfilled. “Both the Governments did lots of promises to the people which were meant to fulfill basic needs of the people. However, despite spending considerable time in the office there is no respite to the people on the front of education, healthcare, power, energy etc. Exam results have seen new lows ever since the Raghubar Das Government has come to power. PDS system has failed, farmers are committing suicides and social fabric among the religions is being distorted,” said Marandi hinting to recent disturbances and law and order situation in the State.

The JVM supremo charged the State Government with spreading communal tensions in a preplanned manner in order to hide its failures while naming incidents like tension cause during a bike rally at Main Road and attack on a Muslim cleric at Daladali in Ranchi and skirmish taken place at Nagri.
