A 65-year-old man drowned after falling into an abandoned quarry near Thripunithura on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Unnikrishnan, a native of Thiruvaniyoor. The incident took place on Friday when Unnikrishnan went to the quarry, located near his residence, to take bath.
As he did not return even after a couple of hours, his family members alerted the police, who soon launched a search operation. The body was fished out around 3.30 p.m.
The body was handed over to relatives after post mortem.
