Germany vs. Mexico (4pm, BBC)

Germany head coach Joachim Low is yet to decide on his starting XI to face Mexico but has been impressed by goalkeeper Manuel Neuer since his return from long-term injury.

After missing the 2-1 warm-up win against Saudi Arabia playmaker Mesut Ozil has recovered from a knee problem and is in contention to start, the BBC reports.

The defending champions have no other injury issues for Sunday’s clash at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow and Low told Fifa.com: “All players are fit. Mesut Ozil has put in two additional training sessions this week. I will tell the team about the line-up first tonight, but there are still a couple of thoughts left which I am pondering.

“Neuer is making a very stable impression on me. The two matches have helped him for sure. He looked very self-confident in those matches and in training - it’s the Manuel Neuer we know.”

Goal.com reports that Low is expected to select Timo Werner up front with Thomas Muller and Marco Reus in support.

Mexico head coach Juan Carlos Osorio told Fifa.com that he had decided on his starting XI to take on Germany “a long time ago”. The line-up has not yet been revealed but West Ham’s Javier Hernandez will again be Mexico’s main threat in attack.

Sweden play Korea Republic in the other group F clash on Monday at the Nizhny Novgorod Stadium (1pm, live on ITV).
