VISAKHAPATNAM: Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation commissioner M Hari Narayanan directed officials to speed up construction works of housing units. He visited layouts where the housing units are under construction and will be constructed, in Rajeev Colony, Pydimamba Colony, Gowri Nagar, Chilakapeta and RP Peta in Zone-IV on Friday as part of his field visit.He asked officials to ensure that the housing units are handed over to beneficiaries on time. He interacted with residents of Gowri Nagar and convinced them to construct houses under Housing for All. He explained about government subsidies and the advantages of proper housing.
The Centre has sanctioned about 75,000 housing units under “Housing for All by 2022” scheme in two categories, including 16,000 under beneficiary-led individual house construction category and about 59,000 units under affordable housing in partnership category.
