NEW PHILADELPHIA An interchange improvement project is set to begin next week at the I-77/U.S. Route 250/state Route 39 (West High Avenue) interchange in New Philadelphia.
This project also includes upgrades to the New Philadelphia Park N' Ride located between the I-77 southbound ramp and Route 39.
Improvements will include additional turn lanes and signal upgrades at the following intersections:
n Route 39/County Road 21 - Additional left turn lane added and signal upgrade
n I-77/Route 250 off ramp at Route 39 (West High Avenue) - Additional left turn lane added, right curb lane widened, signal upgrade
n Park n' Ride - parking lot expanded for additional spaces.
Beginning Thursday, Route 39 (W. High Avenue) eastbound traffic will be reduced to one 11-foot lane of traffic between County Road 21 and the I-77 northbound/Route 250 westbound off ramp.
The contractor for this $1.7 million project is Cornerstone Electric, Inc., and the completion date is Oct. 31.
