Alexis Bledel, Kurt Russell to star in thriller Crypto

LOS ANGELES: Actors Alexis Bledel and Kurt Russell are all set to star in the indie thriller "Crypto".

Bledel, who currently stars in the second season of "The Handmaid's Tale", and Russell will be joined by actors Luke Hemsworth, Jeremie Harris, Vincent Kartheiser and Beau Knapp in the new film.

To be directed by John Stalberg Jr, the film is based on an original story by Jeffrey Ingber. The script has been penned by Carlyle Eubank and David Frigerio, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The story follows a young anti-money laundering agent (Knapp) tasked with investigating a web of corruption and fraud in his remote New York hometown, where his father (Russell) and brother (Hemsworth) are struggling to maintain their family farm in a changing economic landscape.

The film will be produced by Jordan Yale Levine and Jordan Beckerman alongside Frigerio.

The film is currently shooting in New York.
