The day Bharatiya Janata Party questioned Mayawati’s remarks on Kashmir, a ruling party law maker from Bairia (Ballia) Surendra Singh said that the Centre’s decision to annolunce a ‘unilateral ceasefire’ during Ramzan in Jammu and Kashmir was ‘wrong’.

“The ceasefire gave the terrorists an upper hand and they are now killing our soldiers and throwing stones at our security forces,” Singh said, adding that ‘’a terrorist has no religion and they should be severely dealt with.”

Questioning Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Kashmir policy, Singh said: “A king has to crush law offenders and not to give them relaxation. The ceasefire by the Home minister was a totally wrong decision. Why should one remain silent if other party is hell bent on breaking peace.”

The BJP MLA said that if Pakistan could not be taught a lesson during the Modi regime then no one could do it in the future’.

Incidentally, Singh’s statement came on a day when Mayawati attacked the Union government saying that its Kashmir policy was a failure. She had said that due to the faulty policy, people were receiving coffins of soldiers almost on a daily basis.

Rebuttingthe BSP chief’s diatribe, BJP spokesman Rakesh Tripathi said that Mayawati was using the language of separatists. “The BJP’s Kashmir policy is a success. The Kashmiri youth is joining the mainstream due to the initiatives of the government,” he said.

Tripathi  however chose to be silent on the statement BJP law maker Surendra Singh.
