Telangana: Trained by mother, two sons take to burglary; police arrest the trio

Hyderabad Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar said that the mother Sana Begum has trained her two children, who studied up to class X, in committing offences.

HYDERABAD: A 39-year-old woman, who trained her two sons in committing theft offences since their early adolescence, has been arrested by police on Friday. Her two sons aged 18 year and 20 year have committed 33 burgling offences by removing kitchen window grills of high-profile residences and stole gold, silver and cash. With the accused enjoying a lavish life style, the city police had kept a close vigil and nabbed all three of them.

Police seized 1.65 kg gold and 80 tola silver ornaments, a Honda Accord car, a Pulsar bike and LCD TV sets, whose total worth is around Rs 75 lakh.

Those arrested have been identified as Syed Mohammad, Syed Sahil and their mother Sana Begum, TRS party Mahila wing leader. All the accused are residents of Shaheen Nagar, Chandrayangutta. The receiver Mohd. Nooruddin was also arrested in connection with the case.

Speaking to media persons on Friday, Hyderabad Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar said that the mother Sana Begum has trained her two children, who studied up to class X, in committing offences. Since March 2015, the accused Syed Mohammed and Syed Sahil started committing house burglaries in Hyderabad and Cyberabad limits.

“Though the accused indulged in 33 offences of house burgling in Langerhouz, Humayun Nagar, Asif Nagar, Banjara Hills, and Narsingi police limits, there is no criminal record being maintained on the accused. Few months ago, the trio started leading lavish life style and spending huge amount for celebrating birthday parties and travelling in luxurious cars. The Task Force sleuths received tip off and kept a close vigil,” the commissioner said.

Syed Mohammed and Syed Sahil did recce and select houses in high profile colonies in the city during the day time. During the night hours, they would enter the residences by removing kitchen window grills and commit the thefts. They used to deposit the stolen booty with their mother. Later, the trio would approach one Mohammed Nooriddin and dispose off the stolen booty.

The accused committed thefts in Golconda police limits, Banjara Hills , Langerhouz, Asifnagar, Humayunagar and two cases in Narsingi. “With the city police installing CCTVs in several localities, the accused chose to operate into residences from backside,’’ police said.
