Man Utd transfer news: Didier Drogba makes huge Paul Pogba revelation on live TV
PAUL POGBA could have joined another club instead of Manchester United in 2016, claims Chelsea legend Didier Drogba.
Pogba rejoined Manchester United from Juventus for a then world-record fee of £89million.
The Frenchman has often been the subject of criticism since his return, with many claiming he has not lived up to his huge price tag.
But Drogba has praised Pogba’s decision to go back to Old Trafford four years after leaving for Juventus on a free transfer.
He says it would have been easier for the 25-year-old to join another club, but he instead chose to complete “unfinished business”.

He came back to Man United, he could have gone somewhere else
“He came back to Man United, he could have gone somewhere else,” Drogba said on BBC One.
“It was unfinished business for him. To come back and want to prove that ‘I can play here, I can be one of the best in that team and that’s my favourite team’.
“So I think it was a big challenge for him.”
Drogba was talking ahead of France’s first game at the World Cup against Australia.

He says Paul Pogba has become more focused in recent months at United.
“I think he does, he does deliver (for France),” Drogba added.
“He has had some difficult moments in the last few months at Man United, he’s been more quiet on social media, focusing more on coming back in the starting line-up.
“I think this will help him and he is going to want to prove to a lot of people that he can be the man.”
Pogba helped France beat Australia 2-1, scoring the winner for Les Bleus.
