Van Dijk's revelation
Virgil van Dijk has revealed he's wanted to play with Andy Robertson for ages.
The pair have been a revelation for Liverpool this season and Van Dijk admits he's been eyeing the left back for a long time.
“Robbo is doing fantastic. Obviously when I came to Celtic, in my first season he played at Dundee United and I already thought he’s a very good player and I thought at that time he should join Celtic!” Van Dijk reveals, on LFC’s official 2017-18 end-of-season DVD.
“I think I said it to one of the scouting guys as well - sometimes I like to give my opinion on players. He’s just a great player, [he] works hard. If you need ratings of a game, I don’t think he’d ever go lower than a six.
“You can trust him and the connection I have with him is getting better every game. He knows obviously what he has in me, and I get it the other way around as well. He’s a good guy as well and that obviously helps too.”
Salah injury latest
Mohamed Salah might not play in Egypt’s clash with Russia next Tuesday and his injury is worse than being reported.
That’s the view of former Arsenal midfielder-turned-ESPN pundit Stewart Robson.
Salah was an unused substitute against Uruguay yesterday.
And Robson told told ESPN FC: “We’re disappointed he didn’t play but I think there’s more to it.
“I’m not sure he is going to play in the next game.
“If they’re saying that he’s not fit for this game, how can you then be fit five days later? I think he’s got a bigger problem than they’re saying."
Goalkeeper update
Jurgen Klopp is still looking to buy a new No 1 this summer despite the lack of movement on the Alisson deal.
Alisson looks set to join Real Madrid despite Liverpool tracking him for much of the season.
And Liverpool have been enquiring about Jan Oblak and were even linked with Thibaut Courtois.
And Steve McManaman thinks a new goalkeeper is a certainty this summer.
"I think Jurgen will look at the goalkeeper position definitely," he said.
"The fact there’s been so many rumours about Oblak, Alisson, Courtois whoever it is, i think it’s an area they have been looking at and will be looking at.
"Anywhere you can spend on the team right through - central defenders, he’s bought midfielders, wants a number 10, that spine of the team, i think managers will look at players who are available and if they can improve the team you have to look at it to be honest."

Fekir claim
Nabil Fekir's move to Liverpool is dead and won't be resurrected after the World Cup, according to Steve McManaman.
Fekir looked set to join Liverpool last week before a deal collapsed after he underwent a medical.
And McManaman, a former Liverpool star, has heard things from the club and believes any deal is dead.
"The Fekir transfer I think was going to happen and it hasn’t happened, but I don’t think it’s a big problem to be honest," he told Express Sport.
"I think they found a reason not to do the deal and they’ll move on to other targets.
"I think it looks as if it’s over to be honest. From what I’ve heard I think it’s over."
