3-day BJP-RSS coordination meet begins

With an eye on 2019 poll, a three-day BJP-RSS coordination meeting commenced on Thursday at Surajkund, Haryana.

The BJP general secretaries and joint-secretaries (organisations) of the BJP-ruled States are attending the meeting. The conclave will firm up strategy and prepare a roadmap for the 2019 elections.

The meeting, among others, could be attended by RSS sarkaryawah (general secretary) Suresh (Bhaiyaji) Joshi, sah-sarkaryawah (joint general secretary) Krishna Gopal and national president Amit Shah.

The political situation and a move by Opposition parties to build a united front would figure in during the discussions, sources said. The discussion each day would be divided in four sessions. The defeat in many bypolls, latest being in Kairana, has worried the BJP leadership.  The BJP has already deployed its full-time ‘vistaraks’ to consolidate its organisational effectiveness at the booth-levels.

With less than a year to go, three BJP-ruled States — Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh — will also be going to poll in November-December. The BJP is facing anti-incumbency factor in the three-States as the Congress trying to resurrect against the BJP.
