ITI students get jobs in Hong Kong

Finally, it is their talent and conviction that three youth trained at Tata Steel-backed Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Tamar bagged overseas job offers in Hong Kong.

Amil Hassan (West Bokaro), Partho Pramanik (Sijua, Dhanbad), Narendra Kumar Mahato (Ranchi), Gurucharan Bobonga (Noamundi) and Kapil Dev Pradhan (Noamundi) are the shining cases who have got placed in the Rebar Processing Plant of TVSC Construction Steel Solutions in Hong Kong.

Amil, Partho and Narendra were trained at ITI Tamar, while Gurucharan and Kapil are ITI trained fitters who got there initial counselling done at Tata Steel Rural Development Society at Noamundi followed by a 2-month training at HTTC Overseas Training and Testing Services Limited, Kolkata for overseas placement.  All are set to join TVSC Construction Steel Solutions, a subsidiary of Hong Kong Shanghai Alliance Holdings Limited, as Operator (Trainee).

Sharing his experience, Gurucharan said: “Tata Steel has been our guiding light from the very beginning. This job offer in Hong Kong will not only shape my life but will also change the life of my family. I am thankful to Tata Steel for their constant guidance and support in preparing us to get this job."

Expressing his gratitude towards Tata Steel, Amil said: “Without the support of Tata Steel, I could have never achieved this. Apart from the financial support, TSRDS officials have guided me at each and every step and I have no words to thank them.” “With this job in hand, I’ll ensure that my brothers and sisters get the best of education and reach greater heights in life”, added Amil.

These candidates will be getting a starting salary equivalent to Rs 85,000/- to Rs 90,000/- per month. In addition, they will get free furnished accommodation (shared basis) and free transport to & from residence to workplace. The job contract is for two years which can be extended based on performance and mutual agreement.
