Blue Cross Society to help State government

The State government will soon start a two-week training course for veterinary graduates in sterilisation of stray dogs. The proposed training programme will be conducted on the premises of MCHRD complex, said Municipal Administration Principal Secretary Arvind Kumar on Thursday.

At a meeting with the members of the Blue Cross Society, Mr. Arvind Kumar said the government would take firm steps to prevent killing of stray dogs in all municipalities of the State.

The government is also considering to hire veterinary doctors and para veterinary staff for all the urban local bodies in the State and impart training to them on conducting birth control surgeries and vaccination of dogs.

Blue Cross Society founder Amala Akkineni said their organisation would work in close cooperation with the State government towards training the veterinary graduates. Director of Municipal Administration T.K. Sridevi and other officials attended the meeting, a release said.
