Visteon Electronics India, a subsidiary of the global cockpit electronics supplier Visteon Corporation, has been awarded a ‘Certificate of Merit - Safety Excellence’ by Frost & Sullivan and The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI).
Visteon’s Chennai plant was assessed by a panel of experts in safety systems and processes. They evaluated the initiatives that were deployed at the plant for promoting a safe workplace.
The evaluations also included several procedures that were incorporated at the plant for maintaining and improving the plant’s high safety standards. According to the evaluators, Visteon was rated above the industry average in the following categories: safety management, process safety, equipment safety, people safety and occupational health.
The award was presented to S G Senthil, manufacturing head, Visteon India, during the Sustainability and Safety awards event hosted by Frost & Sullivan on June 1 in Mumbai. The event saw the presence of Vijay Kalra, CEO, Mahindra Vehicle Manufacturers and chief marketing officer at Mahindra & Mahindra, and Rajiv Gandhi, senior executive director of production, Maruti Suzuki India, and other thought leaders in the industry.
