NEW DELHI: AAP on Friday categorically denied reports emanating from LG’s House that health minister Satyendar Jain, on indefinite fast since Tuesday, had gained over 1kg in the last 24 hours. Sources said Jain’s weight went up from 80.3kg on Thursday to 81.5kg on Friday, while his pulse rate remained 68 per minute. His blood pressure was the same on both days at 98/64.

TOI couldn’t independently verify these reports.

Sources in AAP said that every day, doctors used different machines for different tests, which gave varying reports at the same time on the same day. “It’s a conspiracy hatched in the wake of the outpouring of support to the sit-in by CM from across the country. They are conspiring to evict us from LG House,” a source in AAP said.

Deputy CM Manish Sisodia is also on an indefinite fast. Sources said there was no extraordinary variance in Sisodia’s vitals.

In the afternoon, there was high drama after a dozen doctors and an equal number of paramedical staff arrived at Raj Niwas. AAP sources said four ambulances had also come in. “Both (Jain and Sisodia) are fit,” Kejriwal tweeted, wondering why LG “was planning to forcefully evict them”. The sudden development prompted Sisodia and Jain to threaten to stop taking even water.
