Tulsa American Legion Post Honors Flag With Retirement Ceremony

On Thursday, May 14th, the American flag turned 241 years old.

American Legion Post 1 in Tulsa held a retirement ceremony Thursday afternoon in honor of Flag Day.

They say the flag represents freedom and the American way of life.

A flag was burned as a symbol of retirement.

Before the current 50-star design, there were a number of versions.  Betsy Ross is considered an American hero, for first creating the flag.
