Odisha youth walks all the way to meet PM Modi

AGRA: A 30 year old youth from Odisha, Muktikanta Biswal, who started his journey on foot from Rourkela on April 16 to meet Prime minister, Narendra Modi to remind him of the promises he made to the public of his hometown, reached Agra on Thursday.

An idol maker, Biswal fainted on NH 2 after entering in Agra due to the ongoing heat wave. He spital by some local residents. He has so far walked 1350 km and plans to complete his journey to Delhi by next week.



Biswal reached Agra on Thursday.

Biswal told TOI that he would request the PM to complete construction of the Brahmani Bridge which is the life line of Rourkela and upgrade the Islam General hospital into super speciality hospital and medical college as promised by him in April 2015.
He said, “I had travelled through Jharkhand, Bihar and now I’m in Uttar Pradesh. I will go to Delhi via Harayana covering around 1538 km”. Biswal said that he walks at least 20-25 km every day.

He said that whenever any minister comes to his state, work on the construction of the bridge starts but is then disconnected after a few days. He said, he wanted to apprise these issues to PM personally. He said, if he doesn’t get time to meet PM, he will sit on dharna in Delhi.

He said, leaders should be conscious of the common man’s plight and he had taken this journey to just remind Modi of this.
