Police Sub-inspector suspended for abusing senior officer in Bengaluru

BENGALURU: A Police Sub-inspector (PSI), who allegedly misbehaved with his senior officer and addressed him in singular in public, was suspended on charges of indiscipline and misconduct.The suspended police officer is T R Srinivas, PSI attached to Vishwanathapura police station near Devanahalli in Bengaluru Rural district.

The video of Srinivas losing his cool and abusing his immediate senior officer Police Inspector Manjunath went viral on social media. The alleged incident took place on Sunday evening.The policemen had stopped a vehicle carrying goods and had asked for permit. There was an altercation between the policemen and the vehicle owner. Srinivas, who learnt about the incident, rushed to the spot.

In the video, he is seen speaking to the vehicle owner asking him to allow the police to do their duty. Later, a person in the crowd comes forward and tries to give his phone to Srinivas, telling him that the inspector in on line. Srinivas refuses to answer and makes a call to the inspector from his number instead. He tries explaining the situation but loses his temper after the inspector allegedly scolded him over the phone. Srinivas starts abusing the inspector in front of scores of people.
