FANS WALKING IN STREET STORY: Fans arrived in Yekaterinburg on Friday ahead of Egypt's clash with Uruguay, many of them taking advantage of a specially scheduled train from Moscow which takes 24 hours.
In the middle of Russia, where Europe meets Asia, Yekaterinburg is the eastern most venue in the 2018 World Cup.
All the talk before the game has been whether Egypt's star man Mo Salah will have recovered in time from an injury he picked up in the Champions League final last month.
But with The Pharaoh's manager, Hector Cuper, confirming on Thursday Salah is likely to start, Egyptian fans were in good voice as they also celebrated the end of Ramadan.
Uruguayan fans were less easy to spot, but were just as confident of victory - their front-line of Luis Suarez and Edinson Cavani is the envy of many teams in the tournament and they are expected to go far.
Both teams will be looking to make a statement at the Yekaterinburg Arena after Russia thrashed Saudi Arabia in the other Group A opener on Thursday.
