Nicole Stines has stepped down after three seasons as Olentangy Liberty High School girls lacrosse coach.
According to athletics director Darin Meeker, Stines received a job promotion that will require her to attend graduate school and keep her from continuing to coach.
“Coach Stines did an outstanding job leading our girls lacrosse program at Liberty the past three seasons,” Meeker said. “The last two years under her leadership were Liberty’s most successful in school history. She was definitely a positive role model for our girls and we wish her the best of luck.”
The Patriots finished 16-3 this spring, falling to New Albany 10-8 in the Division I, Region 1 final May 25. Their only regular-season losses came against eventual state runner-up New Albany (15-9 on April 5) and eventual state champion Upper Arlington (19-7 on April 7).
Liberty went 40-15-1 during Stines’ tenure, also finishing as regional runner-up in 2017.
