After a long gap an additional passenger train was added on the Nizamabad-Karimnagar route. MLC A. Lalitha, MLA B. Ganesh Gupta and Collector M. Ram Mohan Rao flagged off the passenger train from Kacheguda that has been extended to Karimnagar. Former MLA Y.Laxminarayana, BJP leader D. Suryanarayana, SCR Additional DRM Sai Prasad, DRUCC members Manohar Reddy, Poonam Chand and L. Srinivas were among those who attended the function.
People travelling between Nizamabad and Karimnagar are happy with the new facility as it provided an alternative to RTC buses. Besides, at the bare minimum fare of ₹35 they can travel 161 km. When compared to the luxury bus fare of ₹180 it is very cheap, said a passenger K. Nithin. Speaking on the occasion, Additional DRM said that the Nizamabad station would have four escalators besides other facilities very soon. Two additional platforms would come up soon. Rail over bridge at Arsapally and rail under bridge between Nizamabad-Armoor line would be complete at the earliest, he said.
